Save, export, and import AutoStow strategies

Once your AutoStow strategy sets work the way you want, you can:

• Save all strategy sets to the Strategies folder in the SPARCS N4 client\private folder.

• Export a strategy to a location of your choice.

• Import a saved strategy.

Saving and importing strategy sets enables you to transfer AutoStow strategies between systems with minimal error (for example, from a test environment to your production system). It also enables you to back up and restore a working setup.

You can import and export strategies one at a time. XPS chooses a default location of the current shared data folder, but you can also navigate to a different location.

To save all strategy sets at once

1. Select Vessel Autostow AutoStow Strategies.

2. In the AutoStow Strategy window, from the Actions list, select Save All Strategies (Private Folder).

XPS saves each strategy as a .txt file in the SPARCS N4 Client\Private\Strategies\an AutoStow folder for the workstation.

To export a single strategy set:

1. Select Vessel Autostow AutoStow Strategies.

2. In the AutoStow Strategy window, from the Actions list, select Export Strategy.

3. In the Save AutoStow Strategy File To dialog box, do one of the following:

• Click Save to save the strategy to the default SPARCS N4 Client\Private folder location.

• Navigate to another location before clicking Save.

If you previously saved a strategy with the same file name to that location, XPS displays an alert. Click Replace if you want to continue.

To import a strategy set:

1. Select Vessel Autostow AutoStow Strategies.

2. In the AutoStow Strategy window, from the Actions list, select Import Saved Strategy.

3. In the Load AutoStow Strategy File From dialog box, navigate to the strategy you want to import, click it, and then click Open to import the strategy.

If you previously imported a strategy with the same file name, XPS displays an alert. Click Replace if you want to continue.
